HOP has been practicing housing construction,
in which domestic timber is used,
across the country since 1996.

Based on such an idea, we’ve established a new housing supply system (HOP), in which not only the securing of raw wood but also the sawing of lumber, design and architecture were collaborated, and have been developing unique housing construction across the country since 1996. We have worked on the self-sufficiency of building materials while protecting domestic natural wood by not relying on imported wood, and have realized that the use of sustainable green and the cultivation of forest resources are comparable.
This house built by HOP was certified as “symbiosis housing” and a “wooden house for which high durability performance is certified”, and in addition, won the “Director-General of the Forestry Agency Prize” in 2001 and the “Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Prize (consumer-oriented quality company)”, which was the first for the company in Hokkaido, in 2006.
We continue to suggest the “happy housing for both human beings and the forest” while actively using domestic timber, and supporting the phrase “Let’s build a forest”.

(Sustainable Green Ecosystem Council)

The forest certification system started with a rapid fracture problem of tropical forests in the 1980s and came into the world as the system that guarantees “timber produced by sustainable forest management”. Based on the way of thinking of sustainable forest management that is globally recommended, an inaugural meeting was held by the founder in June 2003 and the Sustainable Green Ecosystem Council, abbreviated to SGEC, was inaugurated in tune with the current Japanese situation.

A house built by HOP balances environmental protection with high-quality housing.

A house built by HOP, superior in basic performance and of which is assessed, meets many energy saving standards and environmental standards. HOP continues to create a new housing culture for the 21st century under the concept that a home should be a “home that is friendly to the environment and people”.

Accreditation was received for a type of
high durability performance of the rationalization system for a wooden house.

A house built by HOP is accredited for “a type of high durability performance of the rationalization system for a wooden house” (registration of a certified business for building performance etc. by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism) by the Japan Housing and Wood Technology Center. This accreditation is only given to the “production and supply system of a wooden house which intends to rationalize the design and construction that enables good-quality housing to be produced”.

This housing was built based on the certification system for the production and supply system of a wooden house, which intends to rationalize the design and construction that enables the production of good-quality housing, by the Japan Housing and Wood Technology Center.

Compliance with Energy Saving Standards

Homes built by HOP comply with the “energy saving standard”. The energy saving standard is the standard for airtight and thermal housing insulation performances, which the former Ministry of International Trade and Industry (currently the Ministry of Land,Infrastructure,Transport and Tourism) established to promote the saving of natural resources and energy saving, and sectionalizes Japan into five regions and sets performance values that are suitable for individual segmentations. Homes built by HOP realize the airtight and thermal insulation performances that adapt to the value of all areas just as its standard specify.

A Type of Accreditation
for a Supply System of Symbiosis Housing

A house built by HOP complies with the uniform criteria for “symbiosis housing" established by the Institute for Housing, Building and Energy Saving. The symbiosis housing aims for the spread of housing that is friendly to people and the earth, centering around three points: “geographical environmental preservation”, “marginal compatibility with the environment” and the “health and comfort of indoor conditions”. A house that was built by HOP was accredited for the type of supply system for symbiosis housing in the segmentations of being a “type for saving energy” and a “type for appropriateness in the region and compatibility with the environment”.
